Can our employee continue to work while in treatment?

If we assess your employee as needing Intensive Outpatient (IOP) or Day treatment, he can certainly continue to work. IOP sessions are scheduled Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturday mornings. Day Treatment occurs on weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A Jobs group helps the individual address stresses specifically related to his work.

Is the program contracted with our health plan?

Coverage in a health plan makes treatment accessible for many who could not pay for it with their own resources. The Gooden Center is contracted with over 15 managed care and HMO companies, including Blue Cross and Aetna. Our admissions counselors can determine benefits with a simple phone call (800.931.9884).

What level of care is appropriate?

Severity of addiction varies by individual. Some seek help relatively early in the progression of their disease. Others face serious health or work problems related to their drinking or drug use. In all cases their family situation is suffering. We use American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) guidelines in determining the best level of care for each client. The Gooden Center offers Residential Treatment, Day and Intensive Outpatient Treatment, After Care and sober living.

Is family treatment available?

Absolutely! We strongly advise participation in our family Intensive Outpatient session. The three hour evening session includes an Al-Anon panel, addiction and family systems education, and multi-family process group. Family members who do not reside locally are encouraged to speak with the client and his counselor via conference calls. Individual family counseling sessions can be scheduled with the Counselor or our Clinical Director, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

What is the program’s duration?

At The Gooden Center each client participates in developing his own discharge plan. His discharge is based on meeting his individual treatment goals, not on a fixed program duration. Our minimum length of stay in residential treatment is 30 days. Most of our clients transition through several levels of care, eventually including sober living, to create an Extended Care program. Our After Care includes free weekly counselor-led after care sessions for as long as an alumnus chooses.
