In Memoriam

Ward Wieman

June 12, 1939-February 27, 2010

Ward Wieman exemplified the kind of man we as staff, alumni and clients of The Gooden Center strive to become.  Ward was incredibly honest.  He treated every person as if they had immense value.  And radiating from his core was a deep and abiding spirit of gratitude that he attributed to his close affiliation with Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-anon.

Many of us had the experience of our worries melting away when we were with Ward.  His sense of joy and almost irreverent sense of humor were medicinal.  Ward volunteered for The Gooden Center with his compassion and professional expertise in strategic planning and marketing.  His impact on me both professionally and personally was, and will continue to be, deep and cherished.

Donations in memory of Ward Wieman will go toward helping newly sober men and their families receive extraordinary care in The Gooden Center’s treatment program.  Click on the link to the secure PayPal account for The Gooden Center.  You do not need to have a PayPal account to donate.  We will follow up with a letter confirming your gift to the Ward Wieman Scholarship Fund.

In Gratitude,
The Rev. Bud Williams
