The Gooden Center, a men’s only alcohol and drug dependency treatment facility in Pasadena, is proud to announce its fourth consecutive three-year accreditation award from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.  CARF accreditation is gained only when an agency adheres to the highest industry standards.   The accreditation is widely accepted by regulatory and reimbursement agencies, donors, clients, families, and communities as a benchmark of excellence in program services and in business practices.

In the 51 years since its founding, this dean of treatment programs in Southern California has provided care, education and ongoing support to over 8000 men and their families.  Quietly housed in turn-of-the-20th Century homes, the facilities assist in the goal of providing transformational life changes.

M. David “Mick” Meagher, Esq., who joined the Center in June of 2013, commended his staff for the work and dedication necessary to attain the repeated accreditation status.  Meagher brings over 38 years of experience to the program.  Author of “Beginning of a Miracle, How to Intervene with the Addicted or Alcoholic Person,” is a frequent speaker and uses his quick Irish wit to bring knowledge and understanding to a very serious subject.
