Christian Rehab: Why Residential Treatment Facilities Work
Christian Rehab For Residential Treatment
Not everyone looks for a Christian rehab when it comes to residential treatment. If you’ve never considered yourself to a spiritual person it makes sense that you might not want to go to a Christian rehab. However, you might also find that it’s exactly what you needed to get you through the many stages of sobriety and into recovery.
Addiction is different for everyone. The reasons behind why people drink or do drugs are also different though there are definite commonalities when it comes to addiction. Addiction doesn’t have one face though. Sometimes people think they know what an addict is and that’s why they feel they are not an addict. However, just because you get up in the morning and go to work doesn’t mean you don’t have a drug or alcohol problem. It just means you are a high functioning user.
Residential Treatment Facilities: Finding Your Place Among The Other Addicts
Sometimes it’s the fear of the unknown that keeps an addict away from residential treatment facilities doors. He or she isn’t sure how they are going to respond to rehab and therefore they don’t want to go. Even though the addict knows that they have a problem with drugs or alcohol, the thing that is keeping them from entering rehab is fear. There are ways to deal with that fear and get past it. You can talk to a counselor at the rehab or a doctor or a therapist about your fear of going into rehab. Sometimes having someone on the inside talk you through it makes transitioning into rehab easier. You can also take the first step, enter rehab and see how it is. Once you are through the first few days of rehab you get the hang of it.
