The Cost of Treatment
It is a very common misconception that the more expensive one’s recovery is, the more effective it is. Frankly, this is not true. Many have recovered with the bare minimum needed to get by on a daily basis. Therefore, low cost drug rehabs can be both affordable and extremely effective. Think of it this way, low cost drugs should be met with similarly priced sobriety. Someone that has spent some considerable time living the streets should not suddenly be propelled into a lavish world of massages and psychotherapy. Someone who has terrorized the whole family should not be moved into a location better than the home they destroyed. This may seem very harsh, but it is most likely true.
Often, we want the best for our loved ones even though they have put us through so much. We must not blame ourselves, but we must also think logically. Drug facilities are not the place to send society’s most outstanding citizens. What is meant by this is that recovery should set addicts and alcoholics on an even plain with each other. Those with money should not be separated from those without it, because there is something to be learned from both sides of the coin. In substance abuse, various sects of individuals lived in the various extremes of society’s sectors, but they suffered from the same problem in the same ways. So, low cost rehabs can bring together those people who have something to learn from each other, as well as so much to relate on. This may all sound like a bit much for a person deciding where to send someone to treatment, as they have not walked in the shoes of their afflicted loved one. But, the decision towards cost effectiveness may also positively correlate with recovery’s effectiveness.
